AMT donates ambulance sent to combat zone in Ukraine

Peoria, Illinois - Advanced Medical Transport is now able to share that a former AMT Peoria ambulance has made it into Ukraine. The ambulance left Peoria on March 24, but an official announcement was not made, due to the sensitive nature of the mission, and the frequent targeting of emergency vehicles and supply deliveries. The donated vehicle was stuffed with medical supplies donated by OSF Saint Francis Medical Center and its Mission Partners.

Pekin, Illinois - A 17-year-old is alive and well today, thanks to the actions of a bystander and two Pekin Police Officers, among others. The young woman collapsed while watching the parade and it was quickly determined that she was in cardiac arrest. Two Pekin Police officers performed CPR.

Advanced Medical Transport acquires Medics First

Peoria, Illinois - Peoria, IL based Advanced Medical Transport, Inc (AMT) today announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Medics First of Springfield, IL. Founded in 2008, Medics First provides emergency and non-emergency ambulance service in Springfield. The company currently has a fleet of 11 ambulances and a team of over 40 full-time EMS professionals. With this purchase, Medics First becomes Springfield’s first and only not-for-profit provider of emergency and nonemergency prehospital healthcare.

Nashville, Tennessee - The American Ambulance Association (AAA) presented Advanced Medical Transport (AMT) with the 2019 AMBY Award, a prestigious national honor that recognizes the best practices in the ambulance industry. AMT staff were presented the award during a ceremony at the American Ambulance Association's National Conference in Nashville, TN, this month.
