EMT-Basic
NEW CLASS STARTS FALL 2025
Geared toward getting students comfortable performing in an emergency situation. The EMT-Basic is able to control life threatening bleeding, provide basic cardiac life support, maintain an airway, splint an injured extremity, and administer lifesaving medications.
Paramedic
NEW CLASS STARTS AUGUST 19TH, 2024
The program will be organized to provide the student with knowledge of the acute, critical changes in physiology, psychological, and clinical symptoms as they pertain to the out-of-hospital care of the neonate, infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient.
Asynchronous Continuing Education

Starting January of 2025, we are excited to offer an asynchronous continuing education once every other month. Read the article, take and pass the online test and receive one-hour of PAEMS continuing education credit. Each class will be available for two months.

The Creighton University - Advanced Medical Transport of Central Illinois Paramedic Consortium (CUAMT) was organized by Creighton University EMS Education, Omaha, Nebraska and Advanced Medical Transport of Central Illinois to better serve the educational needs of the central Illinois area. Advanced Medical Transport's leadership team approached Creighton University with a proposal to develop this program in order to enrich our educational offerings with an exceptional, University sponsored paramedic education program. Advanced Medical Transport of central Illinois has been receiving Critical Care Paramedic (CCP) training from Creighton University for three years and has developed a relationship of mutual respect as a result of the CCP offering.
The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) has given accreditation to the Creighton University-Advanced Medical Transport (AMT) of Central Illinois Paramedic Consortium, Peoria, IL. “The commission commends you and your colleagues for your commitment to continuous quality improvement in education, as demonstrated by your participation in program accreditation,” said Glen Mayhew, President of CAAHEP.
“As the role of the Paramedic expands the reach of heath care delivery models, we sought to establish the highest educational opportunities in preparing our students for their careers,” Andrew Rand, CEO of AMT and president of CUAMT said. “Accreditation assures substantial compliance with the highest standards in the nation for our profession.”
The accreditation standards are established by CAAHEP, CoA EMSP, American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), American Ambulance Association (AAA), American College of Cardiology (ACC), American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP), American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians (ACOEP), American College of Surgeons (ACS), American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA), International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC), International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF), National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT), National Association of State EMS Officials (NASEMSO), National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT), National Association of EMS Physicians (NAEMSP), and the National Association of EMS Educators (NAEMSE).
