Where an ambulance can’t travel, when moving on foot isn’t fast enough… Advanced Medical Transport’s Segway Human Transporters (HT) provide the perfect means to get around.

The Segway HT is a self-balancing, electric-powered transportation device that allows an AMT healthcare professional to travel farther, move quicker and carry more than he or she could accomplish on foot.

AMT purchased two of these transporters at $4,500 apiece specifically for addressing the public’s medical needs at large, outdoor community events. AMT attends over 200 of these types of events throughout Central Illinois each year.

AMT’s Segway Transporters:

• are very maneuverable in crowds
• carry medical supplies and equipment to provide Advanced Life Support care in emergency situations
• elevate riders 11 inches off the ground, making it easier to spot an emergency situation
• travel up to 12½ miles per hour
• are operated by AMT paramedics who are specially trained to use the transporters
