Continuing Education

Advanced Medical Transport's continuing education program is required for all full-time paramedics and EMTs. The program is offered at AMT headquarters (1718 North Sterling Ave., Peoria, IL) on the 3rd and 4th Tuesday of every month in the morning and evening. The program is designed to prepare our healthcare professionals to recertify by meeting or exceeding the state of Illinois and Peoria Area EMS standards on recertification. We provide 48 hours of paid continuing education.

At Advanced Medical Transport, workplace safety is a high priority. We are diligent in our efforts to provide our employees with a safe work environment that complies with federal, state and local requirements.

Employee Self-directed Safety Team

The mission of our Safety Team is to review AMT's safety policies and procedures on a regular basis to evaluate their effectiveness and determine any deficiencies or necessary modifications or additions. The team has implemented several safety awareness campaigns that include cellular telephone use, seat belt use, injury-free workdays, accident-free driving days, facility safety, as well as proper patient lifting, moving and loading techniques.

The Safety Team also investigates all workplace accidents and injuries, reviewing the causes and providing recommendations for prevention of further occurrences.
