Advanced Medical Transport is a not-for-profit community organization governed by a local board of healthcare, business and community leaders. AMT does not receive any local taxpayer subsidy.

• AMT operates from a 30,000 sq. ft. facility on North Sterling Ave. in Peoria, IL.
• AMT's corporate headquarters houses administration, patient accounts, communications, fleet service and training/safety.
• AMT operates facilities in Pekin, Streator and Mercer County.
• AMT provides office space to the American Heart Association.

FLEET SERVICE

• AMT operates the largest ambulance fleet in the Central Illinois area. We equip each unit beyond state and county certification requirements.
• AMT maintains 28 Advanced Life Support ambulances in our fleet, representing an investment of more than $3.7 million.
• AMT has two specially equipped Critical Care/Neonatal Units.
• AMT employs expert technicians to service our fleet.
• AMT emphasizes preventive maintenance and has a stringent engine hour-based schedule for both minor and major inspections.
• AMT purchases approximately four new ambulances every year and often donates old ambulances to area rescue squads.

COMMUNICATIONS

• AMT operates a Communications Center equipped with advanced technology that provides the capability to receive and dispatch each call in the most efficient manner.
• The Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system automatically locates the paramedic unit nearest to the scene, which results in the closest unit being dispatched within seconds of receiving the call.
• All units maintain continuous contact with the Communications Center via mobile data messaging devices.
• On average, 9-1-1 calls are dispatched in 15 seconds once a call is received.
• AMT utilizes a Medical Priority Dispatch System that evaluates each call through a programmed, medically approved interrogation sequence that uses questions to determine the incident type. Ambulances are dispatched, and pre-planned levels of response are determined according to the priority system.
• AMT's AVL (Automatic Vehicle Location) system incorporates a dynamic map (at right) that displays call locations as well as real-time position of the ambulances.  While interfaced with CAD, the system provides recommendations to dispatch the closest paramedic unit, then actually plots the quickest route to the call.
